Video: Ariel Sharon: “You might not like the word, but it’s an occupation”

The Levy Committee report has fuelled all kinds of correspondence, much of it around whether, legally, the occupation does exist at all. In my mind, and certainly in the mind of every country around the world, except Israel’s, that is the appropriate legal term for it.

Indeed, even former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, the bastion of the settlement enterprise agrees. The best part is watching Bibi Netanyahu next to him, squirming.

Can we please move on from this pointless debate and start focussing on how Israel can extricate itself from the West Bank for Israel’s sake?
