Video: Marriage in Israel: “One frame does not fit all”

A new campaign in Israel striving for freedom of choice in marriage.

Currently the institution of marriage is controlled by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, which makes it impossible for same-sex marriage, interfaith marriage and also doesn’t allow civil marriages. This has long been one of the most frustrating and backward characteristics of Israel for me, and this is a great campaign to try rectify the situation. It’s also supported by the New Israel Fund, which I’m proud to be a part of in Australia.

I personally like to take a more traditional view: marriage is between a man and numerous women (and possibly young girls) and should be negotiated between the most senior male in each family. I am also a strong supporter of marrying for political and financial reasons rather than that "love" bullshit.
